Putting Your Head In The Sand Is Worthless Wishing & Hoping

Filed in:

When facing a crisis many just try to “get through it” with the least amount of damage – they are willing to be a victim as opposed to a master of their circumstances. They put their heads in the sand (and get their competitive/market share butt kicked).

Some hunker down and hope that it will pass and until everything returns to normal. As they burying themselves deep in their bunker, there are others who step up to the challenge; look for the opportunities and play big…and emerge as the winner. Some go right into a defensive mode while others choose to take a more offensive stance.

The greatest opportunity belongs to those who use a challenge, crisis or chaos to improve their business and themselves. They know how to keep their head up in a crisis. They know that you must constantly stay focused on winning in order to win.

What helps in a crisis is a clear vision of what you are trying to accomplish. Without a vision you are like a ship in an angry ocean with no rudder – you are at the mercy of the wind, waves, and currents. A vision helps you see the opportunities in a crisis as your “way forward”. A vision also feeds your passion and helps you use that passion to push through the crisis.

Stop wishing and hoping; stop hunkering down and putting your head in the sand and waiting for the storm to pass and for things to get back to “normal”. While your “hiding” a new “normal” is taking shape and you may miss the opportunities that come with it. How to Know When It’s Time to Change!

: Change Begins With Choice

by Jim Rohn

Any day we wish, we can discipline ourselves to make important changes in our lives. Any day we wish, we can open the book that will open our mind to new knowledge. Any day we wish, we can start a new activity. Any day we wish, we can start the process of life change. We can do it immediately, or next week, or next month, or next year.

We can also do nothing. We can pretend rather than perform. And if the idea of having to change ourselves makes us uncomfortable, we can remain as we are. We can choose rest over labor, entertainment over education, delusion over truth and doubt over confidence. The choices are ours to make. But while we curse the effect, we continue to nourish the cause.
